Swagelok ANSI Flange Adapters: Easy to Use and Affordable to Purchase
by Katie Dennis on Wed, Jun 12, 2013 @ 15:06 PM
ANSI flanges are an easy way to transition from a mechanical/piping system to an instrumentation system
Flange Adapter Series |
When your system makes the transition from mechanical to instrumentation, you likely need to convert from pipe to tube. To make this transition, Swagelok created the Flange Adapter series. If you need to transition to tubing, then you want the patented Swagelok tube fitting to get you there. By transitioning straight from a flange connection to a tube fitting connection, it eliminates the need for both threaded connections, which mean less potential leak points, and weld connections, which saves you on labour expenses. Previously, you would have had to use either a welded or threaded flange adapter in order to convert to tubing - but not anymore.
The unique Swagelok Flange Adapter comes with either a tube fitting end or a tube adapter end. All the patents on the Swagelok Tube Fitting apply to this product. These adapters come with all the conveniences of the Swagelok tube fitting; easy alignment, simply installation, and convenient removal for maintenance, and it’s also easy to use as a point of disassembly and reassembly. Further, the adapter is a one-piece, integrally forged body, which greatly reduces the possibility of leak points and increases ease of ordering. Another advantage of having the Swagelok tube fitting connected to the flange is that your instrumentation team probably already knows how to install our fittings. If they don’t, there are lots of training resources available at Edmonton Valve.
In North America, we typically use the ANSI flanges, but we also have types to meet European and other overseas standards.
Ordering Information
If you think a flange adapter may be exactly what you need for your system, we are happy to assist with your inquiries. However, it helps to gather a little information in advance to speed up the quoting process. We'll want to know the pressure class of your piping system. We'll also need the nominal size of the piping flange. We carry ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1 ½”, and 2” flanges.
A gasket ensures a tight seal, but it's still important to make sure the sealing surfaces match. Check to see whether the pipe flange has a raised face, a flat face, or RTJ (tongue-and-groove). Of course, we also need to know the size you need for the tube end, which we have in all of our basic sizes up to 2 inch.
Our flanges come in a variety of materials such as 316 stainless steel and various alloys, such as Inconel, Monel, and Hastelloy. System engineers very likely will specify what your system needs.
Our flange adapters have become popular in refineries, pipelines, petrochemical and chemical applications. Once our customers see the time and money they save on critical applications, they soon find other places to use them.
We make sure to keep plenty in stock, so give one of our associates a call and discuss your specific needs. You can get all the technical details about Swagelok ANSI flange adapters by downloading the catalogue here.
