Swagelok ball valves are designed for quick quarter-turn operation and leak-tight shut-off. They come in various sizes, materials, and configurations, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, from general-purpose to specialized high-purity environments.

We are asked every so often what the difference is between the 40 series and 40G series, since both are one-piece instrumentation ball valves. Here's how we break it down:
- The 40 series is rated to perform at 10°C to 65°C. The 40G series was designed for thermal cycling in environmental and heat-process applications. It is rated to work from -53°C to 148°C.
- Part of the difference comes from the materials used. The 40 series has packing material of PTFE. In the 40G series the single-piece, patent-pending encapsulated packing is modified PTFE or ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene.
- The live-loaded design reduces the need for packing adjustment, compensates for wear, and improves thermal cycle performance.
