Swagelok Delivers Products, Expertise, and Services
by Katie Reid on Fri, Jan 22, 2016 @ 08:01 AM
As great as the products are, Swagelok products alone aren't enough to keep us on top
In the past, just having the best quality products, and having them available when customers needed them, was enough to be a market leader. But our customers have evolved over the years, and they expect Swagelok to evolve with them.
Bob Wilson, vice president of marketing for Swagelok Co., describes this evolution in this short video, one in a series on Swagelok leadership. He notes that three basic trends are affecting our customers.
"First, their assets are getting bigger and more complex," Wilson says. "Second, they are dealing with complex and difficult applications: higher pressures, higher temperatures and sometimes very difficult chemistry.
"And lastly, people It's always difficult, especially in complex industries, to get the right people. But these industries are also suffering from retirements and a reduction in knowledge, overall, in their employee base."
So customers need more from us than parts. They want us to be involved early in the design of their systems, and to help keep those systems running at top performance.
Early involvement
Our smartest customers get us involved at the beginning when they want to design or improve a fluid system. We've written before about our product selection and custom solutions services. That means we can help you optimize the design, including more than 1 million Swagelok CAD templates and sales drawings in multi-lingual formats. We can send a plug-and-play assembly to your door, tested and with a warranty. We can make everything from a custom-ordered hose to a complete subsystem.
Even if all you need is the parts, such as valves, tubing or our flagship tube fitting, we conduct special training to make sure you know the right way to select and install the parts so they'll give you top performance. Training ranges from our in-house Swagelok Total Support Training Seminars to a full ranged of online courses at Swagelok University.
Keeping it going
We're also experts at keeping steam systems running at peak efficiency. Our steam advisors can come to your site, review your steam system and recommend improvements. You'll get a report on how to fix the specific problem, plus suggestions about what else to look for in your system and a roadmap for how to implement the recommendations. It is a chance to open a window into your steam system and uncover cost savings, explore opportunities for improvement and gain from the experience and capabilities that our technicians bring to the table.
We're always looking for ways to add value for our customers, whether that's in terms of pure cost, or in customer processes and systems. We do it with all of our customers, not just the big ones. As they evolve, we evolve. We're always exploring new territory.
