Swagelok Edmonton Training Portal: 20+ Class Options, Course Details, & Secure Registration
by James Dickie on Wed, Jan 31, 2024 @ 08:01 AM
Swagelok Edmonton has created a new online portal where Alberta fluid system engineers, technicians, and quality control managers can explore our training options, dig into course details, and register online knowing their details are private and secure.
It's now easier for Alberta fluid system technicians, engineers, and quality control leaders to take advantage of Swagelok training options. Scroll through more than 20 offerings at the new portal, ranging from FK Fitting Essentials and Medium/High Pressure Cone and Thread Essentials to the popular Process Analyzer Sampling System (PASS) class.
Check out course offerings and calendar and follow links to securely register.
Our Swagelok Essentials Full Day (STS) Course is a full day seminar that emphasizes choosing correct tubing and fittings for the site, proper handling, preparing, and installing components to specification. The course covers proper tube selection, cutting, and deburring; assembly of Swagelok tube fittings; and gauging a tube fitting assembly.
Efficient, leak-free operations require appropriate use of tubing instead of traditional piping systems, so proficiency in tube bending is important. Properly bent tubing eliminates mechanical connections, which are too often the source of leaks. In this course, Swagelok instructors cover parts of the tube bender, theory of bending, and the measure-bend method. Students will bend multiple pieces of tubing to increase the knowledge and experience levels.
If an attendee successfully completes exams in the course, they can earn a Swagelok Certificate of Completion valid for 3 years. Tens of thousands of Alberta instrumentation technicians, pipe fitters, millwrights, managers, and quality control experts have benefited from this training.
Reducing human error
If we can eliminate human error then that takes care of almost 90 percent of product problems that we see at our customer sites. Even people who have been working with tubing and fittings for years benefit from the training.
A lot of companies require that their crews receive refresher training every few years to keep up with new features and new products. You see some folks who have been in the industry for years saying, 'I learned a lot of things today. I was taught a different way of doing it.' It helps remove a lot of bad habits.
By making sure a new generation is properly trained, the workplace becomes safer too.
Flexible format
On average, our Swagelok Essentials (STS) classes book up fully each month, but with consistent monthly course offerings, we are able to accommodate most requests. We provide flexible learning options including sessions in our dedicated Swagelok Edmonton Training Centre and onsite training of groups at customer sites. If none of the listed options suit you, please get in touch so we can meet your specific needs.
