We share exclusive content on our LinkedIn page only, don't miss out! Review some of our community involvement updates from 2019 below
The Stollery Children's Hospital Radiothon
Above shows our President and associates participating in part of the 2-day Corus Radiothon in support of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation. Our associates were on the phones from 8am - 11am with an Edmonton Valve & Fitting sponsored POWER HOUR to help collect donation money for the Stollery.
Proceeds from the Radiothon helped to buy specialized equipment to improve patient outcomes, including a portable ultrasound machine for scoliosis patients that reduces radiation for children and saves time in the clinic, and a Penguin milk warmer that maintains the nutritional quality and temperature of milk for babies in the Stollery neonatal intensive care unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital site.
We have plans in place to help do our part and pitch in our time and efforts to support the very same event in early 2020! View our LinkedIn post regarding the event here.
The Stollery Children's Hospital Teddy Bear Fun Run
This spring, Edmonton Valve & Fitting associates were happy to soak up the sunshine and help contribute to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation's Teddy Bear Fun Run. Money raised helped to support physical and mental health for children across Alberta through programs such as: pet therapy, music therapy, peer support groups, and the Awasisak Indigenous Health Program.
Over $255,000 was raised to fund family centered care for kids across Alberta. Read more about the event here.
Edmonton Valve & Fitting Charity Golf Tournament
It was a close call, but thankfully the weather held up on the day of our annual golf tournament. Our associates, sponsors, friends and family were able to enjoy another beautiful day golfing in support of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, staff, and golfers - we were able to raise over $35,000 to help children and families in need!
To see more about this event, check it out on our LinkedIn post.
Miracle Treat Day
With 100% of proceeds from DQ Blizzard's sold for this event going to the Children's Miracle Network, eating ice cream for your afternoon snack was a no-brainer! Our associates enjoyed the tasty treats while helping to raise money for specialized equipment, research, training, and programs for children.
All contributions are made to the local Children’s Miracle Network Member Hospital to directly help kids in your communities. Read more about it on our LinkedIn post here!
Canadian Blood Services Donations
Twice this year, some of our associates eligible for donating blood opted to help those in need. Cancer patients, transplant recipients, accident victims. For these people and so many more, a timely transfusion of blood can be the lifesaving difference.
Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who needs it. The need is constant. We are proud to be able to serve our community and help those who need this crucial donation. Read more about it on our LinkedIn post.
The Mustard Seed Volunteering

Some of our associated rolled up their sleeves to help prepare and distribute meals to those less fortunate in Edmonton through The Mustard Seed. The Mustard Seed is a safe and supportive place where people experiencing problems associated with poverty and homelessness can have their physical needs met in the short term, but also begin to heal and grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for a better life down the road.
This is just one example of many events that our associates help volunteer for to help those less fortunate. Read more about it on our LinkedIn post.
